Nurses Middle College

is different!

The Nurses Middle College Charter High School is a public charter school that enrolls students from the Capital Region of New York. As a charter school, we purposefully seek to enroll a demographically diverse student body as essential to our mission of diversifying the future nursing and healthcare workforce.

Here are some highlights of the Nurses Middle College Charter High School Model:

  • Tuition is completely free

  • Open to any Capital Region high school student

  • 4 year college preparatory program of study, starting at the 9th grade

  • Students take college level courses at area colleges and universities

  • Saves students money on college tuition
  • Work-based learning experiences in health care

  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant), and other patient care programs

  • Summer employment and paid internships

2023-24 School Year

Open Enrollment Period

Students who have completed 8th grade may apply for admittance.

We are looking for dedicated and self-motivated students who are committed to a future in nursing. School days will be longer, summer study may be required, and the focus will be on producing college-level work. If this sounds exciting to you, then we want you in our school!

The Nurses Middle College is an open-enrollment public charter school that enrolls students from across the capitol region of Albany, NY.

As a statewide charter school, we purposefully seek to enroll a demographically diverse student body as essential to our mission of diversifying the future nursing and healthcare workforce. When NMC-CR receives more enrollment applications than available seats, admission is determined through a blind lottery.
