Brenda Robinson is CEO and founder of the Black Nurses Coalition, Inc which is a non-profit organization created to address healthcare disparities and advocate for health equity. Robinson serves many roles in the City of Albany including Human Rights Commissioner, Albany Public Library Board Trustee, Associate Director Capcom Federal Credit Union Board, Health Equity & Diversity Consultant, and President of the Arbor Hill Neighborhood Association. She is a published author and public speaker. Robinson was a member of the City of Albany Police Reform Collaborative and many other Albany initiatives. Robinson has been an employee of the Veteran Health Administration for over 27 years in many capacities and enjoys serving Veterans. She is a former instructor at Maria College and Mildred Elley Nursing School.
She has served on local and national committees, has worked in healthcare management, as a Union Representative on the local and national level, and has held many leadership roles. She is a strong community advocate. She has been the recipient of many awards and accolades, including the recipient City of Albany Henry Johnson Aware on 9/11/21 with the day designated for Dr. Brenda Robinson by the Mayor of Albany due to her years of being on the frontline in underserved communities and her hard work during this Covid-19 Pandemic.
